The information bureau of the Supreme People’s Court (SPC) launched an educational video program on the Civil Code on May 28, which will be available on its official accounts of Wechat and Weibo and the website chinacourt.org.
With a total of 100 episodes, the program will be updated on a daily basis and is comprised of three sections: provision reading by anchors from the China Media Group, typical cases studies, and a Q&A section where one or two related questions will be presented in each episode and a lucky draw section set up to encourage interaction from readers. Being the first law named as “code” since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Civil Code is considered as “the encyclopedia of social life” as it covers all aspects of people’s social lives. The launch of the program is part of efforts to popularize the Civil Code and elevate people’s legal awareness.
